Science and God

Democrat National Committee has taken its last reference to God out of their platform. Was this to further their position that they are a party of science? Why are the pundits for the Democratic Party trying so hard, continually saying that they are the party of science and the Republicans are somehow, anti-science? Can’t you be both?
Our country founded on the premise that we have unalienable rights endowed by our creator, be it Allah, Yahweh, Buddha, or Jesus Christ. We are a god fearing nation (Approximately 80%) and we do not all hold the same views as to which God is the Supreme Being, or to the extent of the effect that he/she has over our lives. The notion that because you believe in a higher power, you do no not accept scientific discoveries or allow, those discoveries to help shape your views and to what extent is preposterous.
Case in point: The Cern had recently discovered the Higgs Boson, which is to be the firing pin to the Big Bang. This is a great discovery and it is an amazing feat to have been able to replicate events that took place billions of years ago. There are still two questions that still need to be addressed: Who pulled the trigger, and why?
Needless to say, this discovery could have been made by Americans if congress had not denied the Department of Energy the funds to continue building the particle accelerator in Texas, commissioned by Ronald Reagan in the late ‘80s. I digress.
The picture aside, a combination, I believe, a mix of God and Science. Science can explain what you see as far as the color spectrum-gasses and light diffraction, even the photography itself. But science cannot explain the person at that spot, at that time, with a camera, and in this busy world, aware of his surroundings enough to recognize such a marvelous sight. This is why I know deep inside that God does bless the United States of America.
